About Us

AAIM Objectives

(a) To promote the application of educational media as a means of improving education, particularly literacy.
(b) To promote the study of ways for improving education through the use of educational media.
(c) To foster cooperation and coordination among institutions, agencies foundations, and organizations having concerns for and with educational media.
(d) To provide leadership and development for the varied interests, institutions, and efforts of educational media.
(e) To provide opportunities to help improve the qualifications of personnel and conditions for their effective performance in all areas of educational media.
(f) To increase and diffuse knowledge of all educational media through meetings, professional contacts, presentations, discussions, publications, and the listserv.
(g) To promote research, demonstrations, experimentation, and improvement in use of educational media.
(h) To identify and analyze critical issues, trend, and developments in educational media, and seek to provide constructive solutions through the collection, organization, and dissemination of valid and useful information.
(i) To develop the use of educational media as a science and as an art.

AAIM Affiliations

AAIM is an affiliate of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). 
AASL 
(American Association of School Librarians) is the "only national professional membership organization focued on school librarians and the school library community".

ISTE (
International Society for Technology in Education) has a vision "that all educators are empowered to harness technology to accelerate innovation in teaching and learning, and inspire learning to reach their greatest potential".

AAIM Handbook, Constitution, & By-laws

Membership

If you are attending annual conference, you do not need to fill out a membership form or send in separate dues. ​If you are not attending annual conference or you are a new member who wants to start their membership in order to be on the AAIM listserv (before or without attending annual conference), then you should fill out the AAIM membership form and send it along with your payment to the address listed at the bottom of the form. More information and the membership form can be found on the Membership page.

Membership is $10-30 if paid separately from conference registration.

Retired Membership $10
Student Membership $10
